2021.09.19 18:56 dreamgzer Xboxone X controller disconnects briefly then gets stuck permanently on last input-Windows 10
This started happening a few days ago, maybe because my USB-C cable is wearing out a bit because .
When I nudge it slightly when using the shoulder buttons,it freezes ingame with the power light never flashing off the controller itself. I have to unplug it completely and re-plug it so it works and detects again.
Real problem being,If an input was being detected when it "freezes", it gets stuck on that on Windows side, even if I spam other inputs or disable the device itself on device manager. So if the last thing I was pressing was the D-pad up, windows is now convulsing with infinite scrolling and I literally can't do anything in windows explorer.
Already contacted microsoft and they are sending a replacement since im on warranty, but I don't think that'll fix inputs getting stuck on disconnect. Solutions? Drivers up to date, FW up to date in "Xbox accesories" BT is a no-go for me since game detects "bluetooth le xinput compatible input device" even if microsoft recognizes it as an xbox wireless controller,it can't be mapped or used properly in the games im playing. Hell , sometimes i gets detected as a second controller when theres not a first one connected.

2021.09.19 18:56 PassionatelyJaded What Neighbourhood Should I Move Into?
I’m Canadian and finishing my double major in Political Science and English with a minor in Business and wanting to get a masters degree on the English field. I have a 17 year-old daughter who is an established artist and would also like to complete her post1secondary education here. We are quiet and appreciate the arts and food. What is a safe and affordable neighbourhood to live in here?

2021.09.19 18:55 Dark_Vamp13 Chance an International Indian student!
International; Indian from a middle class financial background
No hooks (I have had my own struggles with myself and my stories of coping up with them, writing my essay based on this transition I underwent, from a gloomy suicidal person to wanting to live my life to the fullest!)
Duolingo English Test-155
9th Grade- 80.13% 10th Grade-92% 11th Grade-62% (We were having online classes but the annual exam was declared to be held physically in school premises,on a very short notice of 3 weeks, mostly my fault, I failed to prepare upto the necessary standards)
Karate- Classes 9th and 10th, Upper Green Belt, Participated in Kumete, Participated in International Camp, been training for my own self development for more than 11 years. (Kyokushin style)
Recitation- A form of eloquence practised in my area. Learnt Recitation for 11 strong years as well, helped in my transition from an introvert to an extrovert. Did 12-13 recitation shows in my hometown and the neighbouring city all throughout my lifetime. Classes 9th and 10th as well.
Teaching- I have been teaching my cousin and 2 of his friends virtually since Class 9. Even though I have experienced a lot of failure, not being at the top of my class, it is from my failure that I can guide them down the correct path, so they don’t commit the mistakes that I did.
Diploma in Modern Advanced Psychology- Obtained a diploma recently. For the many years that I spent in introversion, I have been observant and curious, trying to understand different mentalities from afar. When I leant about Psychology I was immediately interested in knowing more, more about myself and about others, about how the human mind works, the thought processes, the different philosophies, etc. Class 12.
Internship for 2 weeks at my father’s workplace- (Cannot exactly disclose the kind of job due to privacy concerns, but mostly assisting in copyright infringements). Class 12.
Certificate for Completion of Cryptography and Hashing fundamentals in Python from Udemy. Class 12.
Yoga in Classes 9 and 10.
I would really like to pursue an undergraduate in Computer Science or Psychology. I am not even perhaps 1% of the international “chance me”-s out there, in terms of grades, awards or ECs, but I want to pursue my higher studies from an IVY!
Might sound sarcastic given my stats:
Chance me for Ivies, Amherst College and Stanford. Would appreciate a lot if I am given a list of suitable safeties!
(P.S. I was my section Monitor back in Classes 9 and 10, also surveyed 40-50 people for a startup project, and built a Python IP address locator [web-scraping] tool for my own personal interests.) (PS2 I apologise in advance for any spelling or grammatical errors.)

2021.09.19 18:55 AtomUnlimited Show us your REAL desk.
I keep seeing posts about how clean their brand setup is, like an Instagram influencer spending all day to look good in that one pic. As we all know, when you are working on your PC often and doing upgrades or tweaks, it's not always going to be clean on your desk. Especially if you are using your PC every day (shout out to all my WFH peeps).
I challenge you all to take a pic of your desk in it's current state.
NO CHEATING by cleaning it up first before the pic!
Let's see your dirty, seasoned, wire filled desks!

2021.09.19 18:55 ObamaMakeMyPenisHard Men and claiming to want “financial abortions”
" Very few women have voiced support for men having reproductive rights and allowing them financial abortion. So men shouldn't give a damn about abortion rights being taken from women ", and something along those lines is a very common sentiment I've seen around MensRights spaces and places adjacent to that (or even just in general).
And you know something, it's valid; in the sense that men don't have to fight for abortion if they don't want. Everyone gets to decide for themselves how politically active they are.
But you know what I haven't seen? Men fighting for financial abortion as a collective. Some have that opinion, but they're mostly part of the manosphere. Men aren't supporting that right in large numbers so it must not be that important to them. Which it isn't. Because in reality, the consequences are incomparable.
But you know what most women are in support for and terrified of losing? Abortion rights. Because it has a huge impact on their lives. It makes a huge difference. Women don't have the privilege of just being able to have a baby and being able to forgte about it and not being tied to her solely due to giving it up for adoption. And beyond that, it's not even just the "baby" that's unwanted, it's the pregnancy itself.
Financial abortion must not make that big a difference if most men don't even notice a need for it. I wish it would make those "fuck abortion rights" men think about how different those two separate rights are for men and women. Men lose some money. Women lose ownership of themselves. They are literally trying to compare having to pay money versus having your bodily decisions chosen for you.
Men also seem to always forgot that pregnancy and childbirth can kill women. The US has one of the highest rates of maternal mortality in the developed world. Even if it doesn’t kill you, it can permanently alter your body, cause all kinds of terrible issues afterwards, etc. Men are seemingly incapable of empathizing with women, though, so of course they don’t consider this angle, or they simply don’t care. Teen pregnancy's of girls between 15-19 is the leading cause of death to women in that age range world wide.
The logic behind their statements it that;
"I want both to force you to have my baby and also to have the right to not provide anything for it."
Child support belongs to the child, not the primary residential parent. Child support is for the child. If the child exists, it’s yours and requires support from both parents. If it ceases to exist due to an abortion then there’s no issue at all for either party. Thus, a Financial abortion is in no way the same as a real abortion. Anyone who argues that it’s the same is a fool.
Does they realize that legalizing deadbeat Dads will harm male children, do they want more men raised in poverty?
Also, don't they realize that "financial abortion" cannot work if the woman cannot actually abort. The only way it could make sense if the woman is dead set on having a child and the father is completely against and the mother is 100% okay taking care of the child by herself (there are still limitations to that argument because having the child growing inside of you and then aborting is not necessarily like saying "I dont want a kid" and walking out). However, it can make some sense in similar situations.
Once you are in a situation where the woman cannot abort the fetus....well, the woman cannot walk away even if she wanted, so there is no more disagreement where the two parties are somehow in similar places. The man stays in the "want" plane, while the woman moves to the "legally can" plane.
A man can choose where to ejaculate, and if he ejaculates inside a vagina he is financially consenting to any resulting pregnancy. A woman has the choice to consent (or not consent) to the pregnancy after having sex, a man does not. If this doesn't seem fair to men it's because they're not focusing on how the reproductive process greatly favors them; no man has ever died in childbirth, no man has ever had his genitals ripped open and violated in that way. I wonder how many men would truly want to switch roles with women in order to gain more reproductive choice? But then I forgot, that it doesn't really matter for this reason; if men were to be able to get pregnant, abortion would be available everywhere. At Walmart, Dollar Stores, every pharmacy around. There would be no debate about it whatsoever.
As I've mentioned once, The difference isn’t just not wanting a baby. If that were it, then women wouldn’t mind adopting the baby out any more than aborting it.
It’s the PREGNANCY that is unwanted. NOBODY should have to go through an unwanted pregnancy. Nobody should be forced to be pregnant.
Further, if a woman doesn’t want her genetic offspring out in the world unconnected to her, she doesn’t just have the baby and forget about it. Only men have that privilege. And it is sooo easy for them to avoid this situation in the first place. They don’t need invasive devices, procedures, irreversible surgeries or hormonal birth control that have a wide array of negative affects that also happen to be expensive as hell. They can get a vasectomy or wrap their shit up in a condom and don't have to deal with all the tumultuous consequences.
However, most men aren’t willing to do so it seems. Meaning, if they’re going to be the ones that ejaculate irresponsibly, they’re still expected to deal with the consequence.So. This is the one area where a man can fuck up and not have direct control over the situation, but have to abide by the woman’s wishes. The only way to make it “fair” for men is to make it ten times more of a burden to women and make it especially unjust to them.
If a man makes a dumb mistake because of his dick, he doesn’t need to help with the kid, just pay for it. If he fucks up with a car and damages someone’s property he can also be on the hook financially.
If men don't want financial responsibility for babies they helped make, they should keep their pants clsoed themselves. It takes 2 people to make a baby, not just the woman. If a man is soooo against abortion, why is he going around sticking his peen inside anything that moves? All unwanted pregnancies are caused by men. 100% of unwanted pregnancies occur due to a man living a "hedonistic lifestyle" (like those anti-choicers accuse women of living, when that's not even the case for the vast majority of women who get abortions in the first place) and ejaculating irresponsibly. Why should a woman have to take the blame and responsibility for a man's actions. Why should a man's sperm have the right to take a way a woman's rights and bodily autonomy? That question even on a surface level sounds silly, but alas here we are.
